We are a group of folks who enjoy getting out and enjoying the amazing beauty that surrounds us in the greater Wenatchee area. As the name implies, our group hikes (and snowshoes) during the work week, which means the trails are less crowded, but it also means you have to be able to hike during the work week. We usually hike once a week, most often on a Thursday, but we are looking to try hiking twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We monitor the weather forecast and adjust accordingly.
Our hikes vary from easy to moderate, and even somewhat difficult, but we are not out to set speed records nor be competitive. We enjoy the camaraderie, we have people of all fitness levels, and everyone is welcome. We keep together and ensure no one is left behind. If you are a newbie, we suggest you do some research on hiking, such as learning the ten essentials list. There are many sources for the ten essentials list, but this link to the Washington Trails Association (WTA) will get you started.
We do need to provide a disclaimer. Hiking in the wilderness involves some risks. We are very conservative when we go, but you need to be aware that there may be risks of a slip and a fall, or other source of potential injury, and you need to be aware that risks exist and understand that you cannot hold the group liable should something go wrong.
There, that’s out of the way. We hope you enjoy the website, and we also encourage you to contact us if you are interested in joining in and hiking with us.
